9 3/8” length forged iron, particularly well made as expected for the smith’s own use. Gracefully recurved arms, the inside of the grips flat producing a semi circle section . Flattened jaws and domed pyramidal axle top. Used to grip hot iron objects in the forging process. 1950’s Cape Cod find.  Surface with uniform rust texture.
